Today marks Seven years of having the Big Guy in our lives. We went to church with some of our family, had lunch out and came back to our messy home for cake and gifts. We played all afternoon and went to Chuck E. Cheese with friends for dinner. During the Children's Moment at church (the children go up front with the Associate Pastor), the Big Guy's hand went up in the air the moment she mentioned Baby Jesus' birthday coming. We all knew what he wanted to tell her. She didn't call on him and didn't call on him. One of our friends leaned back and said to me "Does the Big Guy want to tell his testimony?" I said "no, he wants to tell her it is his birthday today." Our friend said "I know, he told me in the hallway." He finally was called on at the end and got to say today was his "Real Birthday" as in we are not just celebrating it - it is the real thing.

I can't believe it has been seven years already. He really is a Big Guy now.

The Anti Suri and Thanksgiving Wrap Up

Here is our girl holding her Mom's medicinal Soft Drink. Down here in the South we like to call that a "Coke" even though it is a Diet Coke or even if it had been Sprite.

She is the anti-Suri because her drink isn't in a baby bottle. I bet you thought it was because my Baby Girl doesn't dress as nice (you would be right). I always thought that with the third child we would not care and let her drink out of a bottle until 3 or 4. My kids have always relied on their thumbs so the bottle was never too important to them. Which reminds me, I need to pull out my Macro lens and take a picture of the little bottle that has cured my boys of sucking their thumbs. It was sent right down from heaven. It actually came from Hong Kong, but I'm sure God had a hand in it. One day I will post that picture and write a proper little post about it.

Back to the picture. I don't let her drink "Coke" just in case you are wondering. She is strictly a water and milk kind of gal. This is from our team's Homecoming game a few weeks ago. It takes me that long to get my pictures downloaded. Unfortunately, our team was beaten bad today and I should be too embarrassed to post this.

In case I don't get around to posting it soon, I'll go ahead and give a run down of our holiday weekend. I was up late working on a project the night before Thanksgiving. I slept in the next morning until the Big Guy woke me up and asked me if I had ever slept that long in my whole life. I have. Parade, Baking, and off to Grammy's for the big dinner. Baby Girl threw her turkey on the floor and fussed until she could just walk around. I had planned to go to the outlet mall that was opening at midnight. I then decided I was too tired for that and made an online order for some stuff I didn't need. I slept in again and it was WONDERFUL. And by slept in, I mean staying in the bed until 9 am after getting up 3 or 4 times in the night for various children. I did get to some stores later in the day and spent more money on stuff I don't need. We went back to Grammy's for more Turkey and stayed there until my children were completely out of control and wrecking the place. I always imagine that everyone is so relieved when my family leaves.

Today we pulled out the Christmas tree and dealt with a light issue on said tree. The boys never got out of their pajamas. The tree was never fully decorated, one ornament was broken and we have another dent in a wall. Tomorrow is the Big Guy's birthday, so I have the cake made and ornaments set out for them to decorate tomorrow.

We had more leftovers for dinner tonight. I'm done with the turkey. I don't care if I don't have it again for another year.

Happy Thanksgiving, Y'all. :-)

Lots of options here

I am funny about my laundry. It has to be done a certain way. Funny how I haven't done it lately. Too bad I am not funny about how it should be done really often. There is a pile taller than Baby Girl on the floor right now. Funny how getting clean clothes put away is the worst part of it all (I don't iron).

It looks like MckMama is having a MckContest on her Blog if you would like to check it out. Lots of goodies are at stake. And, it looks like one of her kids got a haircut. Hmmm. Check it out here.

Hello World

Hi poor neglected blog.

Life is just busy right now and all the pictures I have taken lately have been of other kids...not Baby Girl or the Big Guy. I did take some of the Little Guy and maybe one day I will download them. ? I took pictures today of another little 4 (almost 5 year old) little guy and realized that maybe that aged boy is just the same for most. Maybe they are ALL great negotiators? They always have a better idea of where they should stand or where the light might be good for a picture. I guess when you are that small with big people telling you what to do left and right...any amount of control you can get you will take.

We had dinner with friends at the local Mexican restaurant. It was chaos and I'm sure I couldn't have gotten through it without a Margarita. My friend and another table of people brought along a DVD player for the babies. Hmmmm. Funny how people either think that is terrible parenting or plain genius. Guess what I think! At least it kept (I hope) a second can of play-dough from being thrown at a near-by table. Are all the Mexican restaurants across America hopping with activity and flying cans of play-dough on a Friday night? I'm just wondering. Why does everyone decide they must eat Mexican on Friday night? I thought it was pizza?

More later (when I have had more than 4 hours of sleep). Also, Hubby says he must cycle the network and I will lose any sessions I have. ? I don't know. That is just some of the stuff he likes to say. So, goodnight.

Manic Monday

Hubby feeds her treats to bribe her for a good picture. It didn't work.

How can Thanksgiving be so close? I am still eating Halloween candy (the Reeses are finally gone).

I have nothing else to say. I took a 2 hour nap today and I'm still tired.

We all could use some polka dot shoes

I want these shoes for myself. I'm not sure I could pull off the white knee socks.

Disclaimer: These are not Baby Girl's shoes. Her feet are not that big yet and being that she is the third child, she only has used shoes. We don't have time to take her to the store and measure her feet.

No one puts Baby in a pitcher

If you didn't get my little Dirty Dancing reference, sorry.

Brothers are mean.

This is Baby. She is Baby Girl's most favorite doll. Her official name is "Baby". You didn't think someone that names her blog "Two Boys and a Baby Girl" and calls her daughter "Baby Girl" would come up with anything more original than that did you?

Lately, Baby Girl talks to her and after she licks her head calls her Da-Da. No, my husband doesn't mind at all.

You might be a redneck.

Bad picture of redneck kids drinking on the floor. Some not wearing pants...others using a dishcloth as a napkin. I won't even start about that shirt.

Mommy to Quads

One of her babies is not a REAL baby (it is a pig).

I think she might be yelling:

a. Go get your piggy bank. You owe me for that hole in the wall!
b. I am so sick of making dinner.
c. Where is the remote?
d. Money doesn't grow on trees, ya know?
e. If you don't put those socks in the laundry basket I am not going to wash them!
f. I just vacuumed that floor! Take your dirt outside!
g. My car leaves in 15 minutes. I hope you are in it.
h. Stoopppp whining!

I don't know where she gets it from.

Guess Again

Now, guess what THIS is!

Humor me. I went to all the trouble to take this picture. Click on it big and see if you can read the tag.

I'll give you a little hint that won't help you one bit. It was a birthday gift for Baby Girl.

Guess what this is.

Okay, I am kidding. Even I could figure this one out. And, it goes with my last post. I thought I would put that link in case you weren't able to scroll down half of a page.

It is part of the gi-normous box of Cheerios I bought at Costco earlier in the year. I have a baby. Babies love Cheerios, right? Wrong. Not mine. I thought I was doing our family a favor by loading up on something she was sure to chow down on and I would be carrying with me all over town. Nope. She has never eaten them and will spit them out if I put them in her mouth. So, I have tried to give them to the boys many mornings. They won't eat them. I have tried to add sugar to them and they still won't go for it. I tried to talk my Hubby in to eating them. He finally told me "I don't like them and I'm not going to eat them." Oh the waste. So, I have been trying to eat them some and am not making a dent in our large supply. I thought I was brilliant when I bought Honey Nut Cheerios and mixed them both together. Baby Girl will pick out the sweet ones and spit the others out. The other people in my house flat out refuse to eat them for the mere fact that the regular ones are in there. This post about Cheerios sure is taking a long time.

On to the point.

I had another brilliant idea. I would make Rice Krispie treats (who doesn't love them?). I would just use Cheerios instead of Rice Krispies and they would be gobbled up in no time. AND I decided I would throw in a bag of chocolate chips to sweeten the deal. That is what my last posting was. Butter, chocolate chips and huge marshmallows I found in my pantry left over from a camping trip. I was like McGuyver in the kitchen finding things to throw in that pot. I didn't think those big Marshmallows would ever melt.

The boys could smell my concoction outside and couldn't wait to try it. My Big Guy said I was a genius, I should sell it and I would become rich and famous (this is before he tried it). He did like it, the Little Guy lost the privilege to have some (another story) and the next day I had to throw it all away because it was so chewy it hurt my jaw. I didn't mind throwing it away. I least I was rid of some of those Cheerios.

The very sad thing is that this picture above is what I had left over AFTER I made my Cheerio-treat.

They are back in my pantry until I can think of something else to mix them up with. I have been thinking about having the boys string them for the Christmas Tree. That is as crafty as I can be.

Don't let me cook. Please.

Guess what this lovely concoction is.

Really. Guess. It is an easy one.

This was a night that Baby Girl was in bed and the boys were outside so I only had my pot to take a picture of.

Plastic Bag Outing

Amy Jo made some good comments about reusable bags below. Why don't stores give you reusable bags free if they really want to help the environment? I never buy them because I refuse to pay them money for something that is saving them money anyway. Except for the cooler-like Trader Joes bag that was a dollar and I thought I would like to keep cold stuff in it on my long drive home. I might add that it annoys me on the floorboard or trunk of my car because it is always in the way and I still manage to forget to use it. It is late so it is okay if I am not making sense.

Here is my thing about the plastic bags the grocery stores give out. I use them. I couldn't live without them. I carry them around for dirty diapers, I put them in my bathroom trashcans, I carry stuff in them, I end up returning stuff to stores in them and you see this list goes on and on. They were essential in the early weeks of pregnancy. Just this month I have grabbed them a couple of times on the way out the door thinking that one of my children or myself would be throwing up in the car. Gross, yes, but true! I was so thankful last month when I had one for my four year old to puke in. I wasn't so happy when he dropped the bag and it went all over my car anyway. That is another story.

I think I would like for someone to make the plastic bags more biodegradable and that would work out for me just fine.

If you are mad about this whole plastic bag thing, you can submit your pictures of how they are ruining the earth here. If you would like to take a plastic bag and place it in your Azalea bush and take a picture for submission...I don't know how they would ever know you did it.

I found some websites that sell reusable, biodegradable bags. The problem is that they cost upwards of $35 and I just can't do that to you. If I am putting grocery bags in my bathroom trashcan, do you think I am going to buy a $35 bag? I do like this website that goes into more options for being a better consumer (than me) if you would like to check it out (ignore any $50 bags mentioned).

All that being said, I really like this little bag from The Container Store. It folds up into its own little pouch and is under $10. Yeah. I still don't want anyone to throw up in it so I might occasionally tuck a plastic bag inside.
I'm thinking about getting the red one.

Take me out to the ballgame

We had a great Little League season. The Big Guy's team was undefeated. The Little Guy played for the first time and it was beyond humorous. If you haven't watched a team of 4-year olds play any sport, I highly recommend it (unless you are my in-laws and get upset about the score not being kept correctly).

As great as it all was, I am glad it is over so we have some downtime on the weekends. Two ballgames every Saturday takes up the whole day (and also creates a lot of extra laundry). By downtime I pretty much mean this weekend only. The next weekends are filled with Thanksgiving, Christmas and Birthday events. Full Steam Ahead! Tomorrow we will travel with the whole family - Grammy and Auntie included - 2 hours away for tailgating and College Football. I am charging my IPOD now so when I wedge myself in the very back of the minivan I don't have to listen to whatever kid video will be displayed.

Stay tuned for Basketball (next). They sell Chick-fil-a chicken biscuits at those morning games. I am already looking forward to it. I am hungry.

Bachelorette Break Up

LinkLate-breaking news. Today, the day after Election day, I must announce that DeAnna & Jessie have broken up. Read the bad news here.

You can look here for a link to the DeAnna & Jessie's website. Although it is really bad, I know you will anxiously await their official statement tomorrow.

This is the host, Chris Harrison. I like him better than the cheese-candidates on the show. Don't get too excited - he is married already.

Halloween Recap

Baby Girl is involved in things whether she wants to be or not. She and I both are having trouble adjusting to the cooler weather. We keep trying to wear our summer clothes.
Kissed by a clone trooper (Captain Rex).
I told my husband I did not want to be involved in any way with the whole carving the pumpkin-thing. I wasn't and this is what we got. The Big Guy sketched out one side and the Little Guy the other.
My sweet aunt, my little ladybug and....what is your brother doing!
A better view of Baby Gap.

A little Princess Leah in our neighborhood. Her mom pretty much made the costume. That is why Baby Girl couldn't be that. I just can't. I can buy stuff on sale, though.
The end of me. Guess which one I am going for first. The Reese's. It is the only one there because I already pulled the other 15 for my own personal stash. The Big Guy gave me a handful before we were even home. He knows the deal.

A bouquet of suckers. For myself, of course.

Second Halloween

Baby Girl enjoyed her 2nd Halloween. She slept through most of the first one. Here we are last year (I can't believe how tiny she is):

It seems like more of us now. All of the kids are heavier. That is for sure.

I will be heavier too if I don't stop eating the big Reeses PB cups all day long.

They are so good!

You will note the boys did not venture away from Star Wars characters again this year. The Big Guy was Commander Cody and The Little Guy was Captain Rex from the Clone Wars. There is a difference between Clone Troopers and Storm Troopers. So I am told...

Last year they were Darth Vader and Ninja Vader. A Ninja Vader is not an official Star Wars character in case you are wondering. It is what you are when your Mom has a Ninja costume for you and you want to wear a Darth Vader mask like your big brother. This works well if you are 3 years old.
