Say Cheese

Oh look. It is a rare picture of my two boys smiling and looking at the camera. I can't believe The Little Guy's eyes are open and the Big Guy's eyes are not crossed. That is incredible.

We were waiting a long time for a ride at Hollywood Studios. (of course)

I REALLY want a picture of all three of my kids together! Sometimes I try so here it goes...

(this isn't them although it reminds me of them - monkeys.)

Thanks, Dad. Got it.

Jedi Training

Star Wars Weekends
at Disney's Hollywood Studios

We tried last year and on our second try this year The Little Guy was picked to become a Jedi. My oldest son is more into this stuff but he would never participate in something like this that has a crowd watching. To make it even more special, a Mom said to my husband after the Little Guy was picked "that is great that your son got picked, but just so you know, we have been waiting here for 45 minutes and our son did NOT get picked!" The Dad then found an employee and chewed them out. I sarcastically say WAHHH.

Don't worry. It means he is advanced that he is turned around the opposite direction.

Cue the scary music...

Oh no you DIDN'T just look at me like that, Mr. Horn head! {The Big guy tells me he is Darth Mal and he was only in one movie.}
Here is our Little Guy fighting off evil.

His reward for destroying evil in the Kingdom was a Star Wars toothbrush that plays music and a Jedi certificate. Awesome.

More Hollywood Studios (I want to call it MGM so bad)

Our only family picture of the whole trip. Thank you stranger-man!
Baby Girl chills out watching Beauty and the Beast.

Lots of cloudy skies through our whole trip. Is it going to rain and when? I didn't mind so much because it kept it from being so hot.

I thought that the parade was pretty funny. It was just a Block Party and not a parade, but I am still going to call it a parade. The little Toy Story Army Men were hilarious. It may have been because of the beer my friend bought me after not eating all day. We were on our way to eat and HAD to stop for this parade. I was getting pretty cranky but the beer really cheered me up. My Hubby said to make sure I had one at all times for the rest of the trip. Unlucky for him, I did not.

The skies were getting dark and my friend and I laughed about the Animal Kingdom parade we saw before a storm years ago. They were flying by so fast you could hardly see what was on the floats. It was in super-fast motion. "Come on guys, we are going to do this parade but we are going to do it in 3 minutes!"

I hope you don't mind that these pictures from the various Disney places are completely out of order. It is like a little glimpse into my mind and the craziness of my life by trying to follow along with my boring vacation pictures.

A good bug is a dead bug.

Disney's Hollywood Studios Block Party Parade

Don't you just love a good parade? Bugs and all...

I'm sorry I don't have the video of him dancing to YMCA.

Happy Father's Day and Wow, I haven't blogged in awhile.

I'm too tired to make any sense right now. Happy Father's Day anyway. Here is an old picture of my baby daddy. Holding kids upside down and tossing them in the air - it is a good example of what Dads do that Mom's usually don't do. I would never take my toddler and toss her way up in the air and hope I catch her. Daddy does that and doesn't blink and eye. Actually, Baby Girl would be horrified (just like me) if he did that to her. He lifts her over his head and she squirms. He would throw the boys over the house and they would love it.

A painting by MY Dad. My Hubby is watching The Deadliest Catch so it is in honor of that. A boat. BTW, he got to order one of the Deadliest Catches from the TV show at a restaurant on our anniversary. He was skeptical that it was from the actual show. That is my Dad on the left holding me. Don't worry - it isn't Baby Girl. I didn't cut bangs on her. Pretty Groovy outfits, huh? How do you like that Beetle in the background? I think that might be the one they always tell me they had to sell to buy milk for me. Whatever.

Happy Father's Day!

Get Your Ears On

I took a picture of the wrong Mouse! I thought his shirt said "Gee your Ears Smell Terrific".

Vacation View

Oh how I wish I was sitting here again with a glass of Pinot relaxing... Let me rewrite that. How I wish I was sitting there ALONE to relax. There were usually three kids running in and out slamming the door.

I actually hid from my kids out on this deck an hour one afternoon while contemplating hiring a babysitter at $1,543 an hour instead of taking them to Epcot.

Epcot is a few blocks to the left and we could see the fireworks show at night from here.

Sad Story Saturday by Debbie Downer

This is my first Sad Story Saturday. I've got lots of 'em for you. I'll ease you into it with a not-as-sad story. Hey! is that our now dead Rubik Cube in this picture? And I am laughing OUT loud because what you probably can't see to the right of that is my oldest son's wooden ladybug (the backside) that he made in Kindergarten. He gave it to our Lego friend and she gave it back with his information on the back (if found return to...). You know, in case it ever gets LOST. Bahhaaaaa.

Sad Story Saturday is a result of me turning into my Mother who has turned into my Grandmother. Always a sad and tragic story to tell... It is inevitable that I will soon be retelling the tragic stories I heard on the 5 o'clock news. Did you know so-and-so was killed in her car when the big concrete pipes on the truck next to her were not bolted down properly and rolled on top of her? You know the neighbor that fell off a ladder and killed himself, right? She fell right through the attic and broke her neck. I don't know about your older family members but most all of mine that are over the age of 80 have fallen in a fire as a child. One great grandmother even died by falling in a fire cooking or something.

Anyway, here we go with something light. It is the FP Knights Castle that my boys don't play with. I just love it and want to keep it for myself. Just like the Little People they never played with and I now hold on to hope that Baby Girl will have some affection for. With boys, this was probably the closest thing to a Doll House that I could get. I guess they couldn't find a way to destroy my house with it. So, now I shall move it to my basement to get it out of the way (because I refuse to part with it). It makes me sad to think that they are getting too big to play with this stuff and that they never played with it when they were small enough. Sad, no? Well, light for sure. Just you wait. I have stories of deceased family members coming.

My 1st Three Very Weak Vacation Pictures

I didn't think these would make you feel too bad about being at home. Pictures of fake-Donald and Jedi fighting are coming. Just as soon as I find the thing I need to download pictures off my other camera. A few things are missing from our trip.

Confession of a Gym Rat

I am going to try really hard to get up at 4:45AM and get a treadmill at the gym for the 5:30AM class. Ugh. Yeah, it is about as awful as you are imagining.

I have not been to the gym in exactly 2 weeks. 2 weeks! I've never gone that long except for my pregnancy breaks. And I have to say that it has been

FABULOUS!

Sleeping as late as possible has been heavenly. Unfortunately, I feel about as bad when I get up as I do at 5AM. I am catching up on my late TV again which is a plus (I think).

Don't think for a minute that I have been dieting. I went to the Dr. yesterday and know that I have gained 4 lbs but I do blame that on the vacation and my diet of 3 hamburgers a day.

[ no picture because the only think appropriate would be a picture of me at the gym at 5:30 AM and it is U-G-L-Y -- I was going to take a picture of the Smuckers Hot Fudge Jar that I licked clean but I threw it away before I could charge my camera battery]

UPDATE: I went and now I can't walk.

Back to the Real World

We are home from Disney and trying to readjust to the Real World (aka cleaning and unpacking). It isn't fun.

Slacker Parenting

at it's best.

7.5 years of being exhausted and inhaling your meals and you would be glad to have a quiet dinner too. You understand that I mean quiet except for the screaming toddler at the other end of the table throwing food left and right. It is all relative I suppose.

Lego Land

Or my house. You be the judge.

I'm sure I don't have to point out the big grown-up claw hand on the right but did you see Mickey Mouse pointing on the left?

Questions Answered

I am in FL for the week on vacation. That is if you call trying to entertain and feed 3 kids without all my usual stuff a vacation. My Hubby is at a conference most of the week so I am mostly on my own except for the last two days when my saint-like Aunt has taken us in. I didn't bring my cord to download pictures so that will have to wait. Until then I thought I would answer some of the questions (those I can remember) from my comments. I never reply back so here it goes.

"The Ted" - That is the Stadium where the Atlanta Braves play. We were supposed to go a couple of weeks ago and the game was rained out. The Boys' Little League teams were parading around the field. We don't go to the games a whole lot because I am not such a big fan of sitting in the heat and sun and watching grass grow.

The Rubik Cube - I didn't just throw it away...I am just now uploading my picture of it. My Hubby never said anything else about it (he was attempting to fix it). I just saw it in the trash one day and decided to take a picture of it. We will NOT buy another one. We also had a "Snake" that I can't find. I think some of the plastic pieces were taken off of it although it was still operable.

Legos in my Dryer: Yes! There really are Legos in my dryer. I can often pull a small handful out, but there are some that are inside - I don't know where. They rattle a bit when I first start drying clothes. It used to be annoying and now it is just part of my life and I don't think much about it. The dryer hasn't broken down yet so I try not to worry about it too much. If you saw all the Legos on my living room floor you wouldn't be surprised. We bought both boys a Lego kit at the Lego Store at Downtown Disney (we are stupid) so our hotel room and also my Aunt's house has little pieces everywhere. I heard the housekeeper vacuum up little Legos and I felt right at home.

Baseball: The Big Guy is only 7 and a half. He started playing T-Ball when he was 4. He has played every Spring and also played last Fall. He is in the Minor IIs and will be there for one more season before moving up to Minor Is where the kids are pitching. They have a machine right now. He was the smallest one on this last team and was stuck daydreaming in the outfield a lot. He seems to really enjoy it so we will just keep it up until he doesn't. The games were pretty exciting when I could actually watch and not chase Baby Girl around. I'm not that big of a baseball fan and am not like the other team Mom's that make signs, scream and overall seem REALLY in to it. I did try to wear a sweater in the team's color on the last day of playoffs so you know, yea me.

Me: No, I never was a Supermodel but I can see where you would think that. Oh, I'm just kidding to make you laugh (hard). I did want to be in the local newspaper's beauty pageant when I was in 5th grade. My mother didn't let me because I guess I was so ugly and she was trying to spare me the rejection. Which when I think about it probably was more damaging than not winning the contest? We will never know.

That is all I could remember so let me know if I forgot something incredibly important or pressing. As if. It would only be natural that people would ask me about stain removal tips. I should be better at that with the life I have led. I can only say that Oxi-Clean Spray got Black Sharpie out of upholstery for me once. and the Rug Doctor works pretty good on carpet.
