Take me out to the ballgame

We had a great Little League season. The Big Guy's team was undefeated. The Little Guy played for the first time and it was beyond humorous. If you haven't watched a team of 4-year olds play any sport, I highly recommend it (unless you are my in-laws and get upset about the score not being kept correctly).

As great as it all was, I am glad it is over so we have some downtime on the weekends. Two ballgames every Saturday takes up the whole day (and also creates a lot of extra laundry). By downtime I pretty much mean this weekend only. The next weekends are filled with Thanksgiving, Christmas and Birthday events. Full Steam Ahead! Tomorrow we will travel with the whole family - Grammy and Auntie included - 2 hours away for tailgating and College Football. I am charging my IPOD now so when I wedge myself in the very back of the minivan I don't have to listen to whatever kid video will be displayed.

Stay tuned for Basketball (next). They sell Chick-fil-a chicken biscuits at those morning games. I am already looking forward to it. I am hungry.

Baseball x2

I had to participate in my first Little League baseball practice tonight. Both boys had a practice at the same time at different places. Honestly, I can't decide which is more boring. Baseball games or baseball practice? I took the Big Guy and he was the littlest guy there. I think a lot of his teammates are third graders and pretty good. He didn't seem too phased by it. He did a good job except for occasionally daydreaming in the outfield and swatting at moths with his glove.

The pictures of the shoes are from last Spring and he has already grown out of them. Hubby struck gold at the first practice when he took a nice pair of cleats the next size up from a Dad about to throw his kids shoes away. What is wrong with people? Why would you throw away a $40 pair of shoes not even worn 6 months? I'm sure my Hubby just took them and didn't explain to him how The Salvation Army works. If I had been there I might have asked where they live 'cause no telling what they are throwing away at the house...

Don't Rain!

I logged on to write "Too tired for words-Thursday". However, after thinking about it, I think it is actually Friday.

I hope your day is going better than mine. I am hoping for good weather this weekend. If Hubby can take these boys out to the ball park, I can get my taxes done. That's right. It is just a laugh-a-minute around here.

I'm off to pick up Hubby at the airport. I hope we can just go out to eat instead of me trying to come up with another meal on my own. It looks like the little guy will be wearing red gingerbread flannel PJ's so I guess it won't be too nice of a restaurant. Just so you know; My bar has been set lower and lower with each child I have. It is one of my survival mechanisms (to keep out of the mental ward). I have so many other battles to fight so the PJ's seem minor.

Letter To My Husband

Dear, you are going to miss baseball practice. The car is making a funny noise. I had to take the trash out to the street by myself. I haven't had a real meal since you left. Oh yeah, and COME HOME! Love, me

P.S. I'll be going out with the girls an hour after you get home. XOXO

Pee Wee Little League

These shoes will never look this good again.

Will he finally get to play tomorrow? After two cancelled games due to bad weather, we have high hopes for a game tomorrow at Noon. Rain is forecasted so we are currently holding our breath. At least he gets his team picture made in the morning rain or shine. And that is really ALL that matters (to Mommy)!

Little League

The big guy had his baseball parade and game canceled for the second time due to bad weather. I think they will be off for Easter or Spring Break soon. This league is too expensive to not be playing. I was glad to sleep later this morning, though. A gift for me. Anyone want to buy a raffle ticket?
