Major Injury List Started

Baby Girl's first injury on the playground. She went to Parent's Morning Out and they let her go on the playground where she promptly planted her face into the wood chips on the ground. Her Rudolph nose only lasted a couple of days. I know you can't see it well in this picture - it was a day and a half later.

This list may grow sooner than later if she continues to put a coat over her head and walk into the corners of the room like she did tonight. I don't think we have a helmet small enough for her.

She played with a little girl down the street that is two months older than her. That little girl is also the third child. She would climb on everything including the slide on the big playhouse. Once she fell off when she got to the top and her mom said "oh well, third child". My third child has two wild brothers but never climbs on anything except when she sits at the edge of the fireplace and ventures far enough to put her feet up on the seat with her. When I sit her on the edge of our steps for a picture, she whimpers and whines and reaches for me so she won't fall to her death. The drama does make up for her lack of adventure.

We played with another little girl in the neighborhood that is also two months older than my Baby Girl. She ran wild through the house climbing on every chair, sofa and piano bench she came to. She even went all the way up their stairs. She reminded me very much of The Big Guy when he was that age. Her Mom just started staying home full time with this little girl and has already lost 10 lbs. I'll never again be as skinny as I was when The Big Guy was a toddler. I'm tired just thinking about it.

I'll hold my breath in case Baby Girl catches up with her friends and goes crazy in the next two months. At least I might lose another 10 lbs.

Here was my Big Guy many years ago. I would have to strap him into his highchair to hold him still for a picture.
He had his own helmet.

Destination Wedding: Nothing else to post on Friday

This is a shot from my hotel room balcony last week. I was trying to be quick and sneaky so it isn't too good. This couple was getting their picture made. I guess they got married there that night? I wish she had a coat on. She had big boots on under that dress. See the 2 black Labs? They sat there like perfect angels for the pictures. I saw case after case of alcohol being carted in for the reception. It is a good think I wasn't invited since I was sick in the hotel room anyway.

I should be happier that it is Friday. I feel tired. The Little Guy is home with me today (with Baby Girl, of course). His school wasn't in today. I was able to take The Big Guy to school early to buy a chicken biscuit (fundraiser). I hovered over him in the hallway hoping he wouldn't spill his giant cup of chocolate milk. He was juggling that, the biscuit, a coat and a backpack bigger than he is. He slowly creeped farther and farther from me. I believe that was my sign he wanted me to go. It won't be long before he asks me to drop him off a block from the school.

The Lego Lady friend just came in the door so I have to wrap this up. The Little Guy is picking up 10,005 small Lego pieces off the living room floor. He taught Baby Girl how to throw them so it is a mess. Our friend was pretty horrified that all the different groups of Legos were being mixed together in different boxes. The Big Guy is a member of the Lego Club and gets a new something-or-another every other month. As I type this they are all being dumped into various boxes. If 95% of them are off my floor, I am very happy. Our friend isn't dealing with that disorganization too well. Better go. She will be asking soon if my dishwasher is broken. Why else would all those dirty dishes be sitting on the counter?

Vacation Tip #1

When you go skiing, take your pictures on the slopes the first day. If you get a stomach virus and miss the other days skiing you will not have your fun picture and the only thing you can post on your blog is a picture of you and a moose.

Tip #2: Ski Coats add 50-60 lbs to you in photos. Try to get a moose in your picture for a distraction if you don't take your coat off.

We did make it home and found our kids in tact. Everyone else also got the stomach virus including my mother. It was not pretty. I promise not to post any pictures, but the places it went is pretty scary. My Hubby was the last man down yesterday. We are all better now or at least able to function in our every day lives.

We have too many towels. I washed every one of them this weekend so I know.

Home Sweet Home

Yee Haawwww. Today is the day come home. Not really Yee Haw because I'll be traveling most of the day and that is never fun. And think of all the laundry that awaits me. That is okay. I'm always ready for my own bed after about 3 days and I am missing my 3 kiddos.

This picture is from Jackson Hole in February 2001. It was one month before I got pregnant with the Big Guy. It was also where we learned on the news that Tom and Nicole were divorcing (I remember random things like that). That was the same night my Hubby went to bed at 6PM and made me mad. I had a beer and watched a new episode of Friends on Must See TV.

Spa Day

This is another prescheduled post during my hiatus from life. If I am not messed up with the schedule, right now is when I am having a spa treatment. Ahhhhh. Finally. A REAL vacation.

Nightmare Vacation Spot

I think this is the day I am supposed to actually ski. I think this is the day that I won't be talking to my Hubby. I'll let you know later.

Still pray for my children, but today please pray for me as well.

To Ski or not to Ski

I am leaving tomorrow for several days. My Hubby and I are going skiiing and we are leaving our kids for the first time. I don't think we have both been gone from them except for a night when I was in the hospital having Baby Girl and a night when the Big Guy was a toddler and I was hugely PG. So it goes without saying that I am a bit nervous of Grammy's babysitting abilities. My boys are going to be wild. The logistics of their little schedules, schools and lives has been a nightmare (and that is with skipping most everything).

Baby Girl has been sick with a bug for 2 days and I'm not feeling so great myself. Please pray that she will be well taken care of and won't forget who her Mama is. I hope she isn't too confused about where I am.

Oh, and I don't ski.

Happy Valentine's Day!

A little early.
Someone went to Target! There was a V-day sale.

Look at the cute cupcake sandals I bought for Baby Girl. It was an ahhhh I'm so glad I still get to buy cute little things - moment. They are a size 5 and swallow her foot.

On another note, this holiday is worse than Halloween. I am eating candy and chocolate (see first picture) non-stop. I am baking for preschool parties and sampling everything. I need an intervention. It's just not good.

How Appropriate

It is now time for another installment of RANDOM PICTURE CHALLENGE from 4 Little Men's blog. Here is where the pictures should come from:
March 2008
5th picture from the end
or 10th picture folder - 5th picture from the end.

It does seem a little complicated. I take a lot of pictures and have a ton of folders. So, I just took the 5th picture from the end of March 2008. And here it is:
I know. I am as shocked as you are that it isn't one of my kids. It is my favorite flower, the Dutch blue iris. I imported a gazillion of these from a wholesaler for my wedding. I have a few in my backyard now. I say "how appropriate" because today was absolutely beautiful down here in the South. We had a lovely Spring-ish day with a few daffodils starting to poke through. This picture is of the flowers in my backyard at their peak. I am guessing the kids wouldn't hold still and I had to go taking my pictures outside.

Now, because it is my blog and I can do whatever I want here, I am going to post a picture of one of my kids anyway. This is what I could have given you if it was the 18th picture from the end. It is amazing that it was less than a year ago that my sweet baby girl sat in this bouncy seat.

Today she ran around the basketball court saying "what's that?" She also threw all of her food on the floor when she got mad and insisted on wearing her fleece hoodie around the house.

What the heck happened to my cupcakes?

BG and her Peeps

Baby Girl, Baby Boy and Baby Boy (soon to be known as Big Guy and Big Guy because they are catching up in size to Baby Girl quick although they are a few months younger.

I can't believe Bonnie didn't hold all three herself. Three should be a breeze after having four babies at once. Baby Girl is smiling because she has her sippy cup. She is a VERY well hydrated child.

Here are the six oldest siblings of the babies. I'm pretty sure I was pregnant with the Little Guy during this time and there was one more big sister on her way.

I love my girlfriends and the interesting journey we took wondering if we would E V E R get pregnant. Eleven kids later and I think it worked out pretty well. I hope I counted right. Eleven? (Some of us are overachievers...)

Superbowl Sunday

And we are partying!

Who is playing?

Bodda-Bing!

This is where you sleep when you write on my walls and break my cabinet doors. I'm kidding, people!!!!

Maybe. ;-)

16 Months. Oh, the drama.

Happy 16 months, Baby Girl!

She just might end up being an actress. She is a hoot.

She finally uses the word Mama to talk to me (and sometimes Mommy). The words I can remember that she says: Mama, Dada, both brother's names, ball, hey, uh-uh (no), BA-BY, bye-bye, sock, Cookie (Cookie Monster), and the oh so popular "DUCK". I'm not sure what Meme means. Grammy? Elmo? I bet she is going to be trouble when she is three. She makes me laugh now. She loves books and brings the same 3 to me all day long wanting to sit in my lap. I love that. She hangs on her high chair when she is hungry and wants to carry a sippy cup around with her at all times. She won't sign any word back to me no matter how much I do it and loves to go to bed by 6PM. She gets excited to go on a ride in the car and to brush her teeth. She takes her shirt off all day long. I can't keep her arms in her sleeves. She likes to hug if it is her idea and is a sweet little girl.
