Friends

Remember that episode where Phoebe taught Rachel how to run like a child because it was more fun that way?

Praise

You can praise the Lord at any age.

That is Baby Girl third from the right. She is a dancer. A tiny dancer.

Little Guy & Big Guy are 2nd and 3rd from the left. Not so much dancing there.

Beach Vacation Raffle Benefiting Haiti

Visit this blog to learn more about a week long stay in Destin, FL. There are more pictures on that blog with pictures of the condo where you would stay. A raffle ticket is $10 and ALL proceeds go directly to aid Haitian earthquake relief and orphans in the warring country of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

For those of you not in the Southeast. I grew up vacationing in Destin and still go there quite often. The beaches here are as white as the picture.

It is time to fire your realtor when

I was browsing hookedonhouses.net and was amused by this picture that was found as a real estate listing . You can click on the link to see a few more funny ones. A friend just asked me to take pictures of her house that is about to go on the market. I will make a mental note to not make the trash the focal point.

You can also check out Lovelylisting to find some more horror-real estate pictures found in MLS.

Binge

This is my old Halloween picture. I only WISH I had a Reeses around here.

My weigh in at the gym got moved to Saturday so the binge continues! 2 S'mores this afternoon and now wine, cheese and crackers for dinner. I think I'll have an ice cream sandwich soon. I have just GOT to have some chocolate chip cookie dough stashed in the freezer somewhere. Why wouldn't I? Emily turned me on to the "organic" cookie dough and I just don't know if that is bad enough right now.
It isn't really organic except in my imaginary life (and probably Emily's?). Anyway, I'm eating it raw.

And dear Kristin, you are too GOOD to not have had a cookie in that long. It reminds me of my sweet friend at the gym one disgustingly early morning. She said if she was going to eat as many cookies as she does she might as well come to the gym. The workout queen nearby said "I haven't had sugar in 2 years" and my sweet (skinny) friend said in her high voice "well, you just don't know what you are missin'." :-) I'll try not to bring you down to my pathetic level when we get together. (TRY)

And that concludes my random fatty post.

Contest

I'm entering a contest through Mom Bloggers with http://www.cottonellerollpoll.com. How you can get in on it: by leaving a comment on this post you will be entered to win 1 of 10 Cottonelle gift baskets randomly chosen on January 29, 2010 from all entries.

I don't know about you, but we use a lot of tissue around our house.

Do you vote for over or under? One of the first dates with Hubby that he came back to my green condo (literally green) he used the little boys room and came out and said that he knew we would get along fine because my tt was "over" and not under. Okay, whatever.

May the Chikin be with You

We are in trouble if I am the fun one in the family.

You probably can't tell - that is Darth Vader Cow. And, no I am not pregnant in this picture even though I might look it. Which brings up another contest at my gym. It is lame and totally not worth it but I am going to enter. There aren't that many signed up and I think I can take them and also beat the system by not hiring one of their trainers. The upside to all of this is that until they call me for a weigh-in appointment, I am going to eat as much as I can to gain a couple of pounds. That isn't cheating is it? Just stupidity, I suppose.

Back to Darth Vader. We took our kids (minus Baby Girl) to that Star Wars production-thing that plays the movie clips to a live orchestra. The real CP30 hosted it. It was pretty good except for the $9 hot dog I ate. The seats were about $55 each and the Little Guy fell asleep within 25 minutes. The boys learned all about "INTERMISSION" and were quite intrigued by that. I think it was the highlight of the evening.

Brrrr

Happy Birthday and Snow Day, Little Guy. I remember feeling like I was 6 for a long long time. I hope he stays six for a long time too so we can really enjoy it. He whispered early this morning in my ear "I really like all my birthday presents except for the DS game." Yesterday was his birthday and we got to miss school because of all the ice on the roads. I think all the pile ups of cars on the roads scared everyone. Basketball was canceled early this morning too so it was like having two more days of Christmas vacation. We are going to wear the PJs out.

Look cute and feel good about it

I haven't blogged a lot lately, but don't worry...it hasn't been so long that Baby Girl grew hair. I borrowed this picture from Flitterbugs. I was thinking this outfit would be perfect for me (M for Mama) but maybe it would be cuter on my Baby Girl? Check out this website for some cute clothes and help them fund an adoption from Ethiopia.

I learned in the past week of two people I know with 2-3 children that have been burdened by the orphan crisis in Africa and have decided to adopt from that country. These are just regular families that you wouldn't expect this from and pretty amazing that they would follow their hearts and open their homes to more children.

On a similar note, the Little Guy (25 minutes ago) went into a room by himself and prayed to God to put a girl and boy baby in my belly. I tried to stop him. He came out and said "it is too late now. It is done and they are in there." The worst part is that he wants to name the girl baby the same name as Baby Girl and the boy after his cousin. My Hubby told him to go pray to God to send a big bag of money with the babies (we are going to need it).

Frosty the Follower

That is Frosty the snowman on top of the Waffle House we pass every morning. It isn't windy on this day but Frosty's permanent position for one week before Christmas. One day I said that Frosty looked like he might be ready for a nap and the Big Guy said "He is praising the Lord." That explains it. I just love the idea of a blow up Frosty on top of a Waffle House lifting his snow hands up to God. [They should market that.] I love that my child would even think of that. I could say it is a result of his Christian school education but he is just like that. I like the way he thinks!

Happy New Year 2010

I can't get used to this 2010 or 010 or'10 thing yet.

Yesterday marked 5 years that my Dad has been living in Heaven with Jesus. I pulled out his big platter for dinner. I can remember special occasions or just weekend afternoons when he would fill up the sections with chips, cheeses, pickles, dip and things I thought were just heavenly at the time. I must have been about the Little Guy's age and I remember it vividly. I did the same thing before dinner yesterday for kids with cheese (the real stuff - cut with my knife), little baby dill pickles (2 kids licked and turned down), raw veggies with Ranch dressing in the middle. My boys proclaimed this as "The Best Dinner EVER!". I don't hear that very often. I know that was from the Ranch dressing part (I did make some other real food too). **note about my picture...I think my kids had not seen this platter before and when they did the Big Guy said "is it St. Patrick's day? I never noticed it looking so much like a clover. Also, it looks much better in this picture than it does in real life. It is starting to show it's 30+ years of age. I hope there is not lead or something they have now deemed hazardous in it.

Anyway, it got me to wondering what my kids will remember so vividly about their childhood and their lives at home with us. I have lots and lots of memories but my husband does not remember stuff like I do. I hope they carry lots of good things from us through life. I hope the Big Guy remembers the moment he realized Santa really did leave a Wii at his house after all. I know I won't ever forget his reaction when he found the note to check for one thing in our basement.

Happy New Year. I hope it is a lovely decade for us all.
