Memorial Day 2009

I am so thankful for the men and women that serve our country. I have a comfortable life because of the sacrifice of others. The boys went to a special service Monday morning and heard some spectacular stories.

They also climbed poles (monkeys) in front of helicopters.

BG (Baby Girl not to be confused with Big Guy) and I hung out at the house. I think this picture is after she threw up the first time. I know that by the #2 patriotic outfit she is wearing. Finally overbuying pays off for me (her).
She has a stomach bug and I should stop saying that because it worries my boys when I talk about having a bug in them. She is doing much better. She is pale (who would know being my child?) and her usually huge stomach is very flat.

We have officially started summer around here except for the gloomy, rainy weather that won't let up. We have very little planned this week so I have already heard "I am bored a couple of times. :-)

No-Baseball Blogging

My Little Guy dreaming in the outfield. That is what you do in the outfield when you are 5.

First weekend without baseball. Woohooo! As of today, everyone is out of school. We are just home doing nothing next week so I don't know how great I am going to be feeling about it then. We finally got our minivan back from the body shop today. It was tough on our family of five (me) to only have a sedan all week. My Hubby was housebound the most. If he is smart he will find a reason to be away next week. I think he already has. Maine? Pittsburgh? Very random places that could very well be made up. Again, can't blame him.

Back to baseball. The Big Guy's team made it to the playoffs but lost before the finals. There were a whole lot of 7 and 8 year old boys crying. It was tough to see and a bit heartbreaking to me. The next night was the picking of the all-star team so more hard life lessons.

My computer is slow so I can't write any more. I know you are disappointed.

Contest Answer

Yep, you guessed it. It is a Rubik Cube that has been taken apart. We awoke to The Big Guy at 6:22 AM yesterday saying "Daddy, I am SO sorry, but The Little Guy picked up the Brain Quest cards and the Cube was on top and it fell to the floor and broke. They are such little liars. I have been reminding my husband that it fell to the carpeted floor and just broke like that. He had to give the ongoing speech of "I have had that thing for 25 years and you break it in 5 minutes." He put it back together although I doubt it will ever be the same again since glue was involved. I believe the Snake was slightly broken awhile back. I don't even know where it is right now.

Did you know that you can Google Rubik and find many sites that will help you figure out how to solve that puzzle. How did I ever grow up without the Internet? I had to learn everything the hard way. Actually, I doubt I could even follow the Internet instructions so never mind.

Contest: Second Hint

Destructive kids? Anyone? Anyone?

If you are as old as me you might be on to something by now.

Contest: First Hint

Does this help? Maybe not unless you were at my house at 6:22 a.m. this morning.

Contest

What is this?

Not just a contest but possibly the worst contest ever. There is no prize except for the knowledge that you are an absolute genius for figuring this out. If you know what this is by this picture alone I may have to find a prize for you. Guess away and I'll let you know what it is before Monday.

And the winner is

The Big Guy's team.

Yeah!

We have games or practice every night this week...the Little Guy's team is thrown into that mix and some of it is makeups from the rain. My calendar is full enough without having to keep up with what field, what kid, what time and who has snacks. Playoffs are next week and I will be glad to have a break from it all. Not to sound like too much of a martyr because I actually stay home with Baby Girl or some other child a lot of the time. Like right now. :-)

In the Gutter

Aren't they cute sitting there? They were also very sweaty.

I'm not going to wear flip flops to the ball field anymore because those big cleat-feet hurt.

That wouldn't be my baby girl without a hat on her head and cup in hand.

Hope you all had a good Mother's Day. Mine was fine complete with a large bowl of ice cream and a nap. We had lunch at a Crepe place that didn't go over too well with my hubby or Mama. The kids were pretty good, though.

My Big Guy gave me a chocolate chip cookie for Mother's Day that he got in Sunday School. He had nibbled all around the sides. How thoughtful? I am now remembering that I have left it in my car and hope it isn't melted.

Hold on a minute

Hi, Blog.
Here is a little picture to hold you over until my life is a little less crazy.

A Sharpie in my Little Guy's hand is a dangerous thing. I am not a fan.

May Day! May Day!

Today is our 10 year anniversary. Who knew we would end up here with 3 kids instead of what could have been a very lucrative perfume advertising campaign. Can't you see the wind whipping through my hair?
