Snow Day in Georgia

This is the way I found my boys yesterday when I returned from Costco. It snowed pretty hard for a few hours. I had to go straight from church where I was helping in the nursery to the store. Believe me, it was out of necessity. Had I not been scheduled to work at church, I can assure you I would have stayed in my PJs all day long. I certainly wasn't dressed appropriately and had to tear off a part of the Kleenex box in the car to scrape off the 3 inches of snow on my car before and after my trip to the Costco.

If you look hard you can see hot chocolate on their mouths.

Can you see my little Daffodil that was trying to come up before the white stuff hit it.

My Bradford Pear tree was also trying to bloom. I'm not sure what it will do now.

A lot of this melted by evening and then it was below freezing all night long. We will wait anxiously to see how much ice is out there and hope that school is canceled. Fingers Crossed! I am all for the town shutting down for bad weather. I want my PJ day.

I had my PJ day today. :) Although the district I teach in was the last one in the state (there are probably about 40 total) to call off school, so I actually had to wake up at 4:45 and check that we were indeed off online. Luckily, I have no problems falling back asleep. Our district (where we live) was kind enough to send a voice message out last night, so we knew that Peanut didn't have kindergarten. I must say, I do not have any pics from the day, though. It was only 20 degrees outside and it snowed all day, so I was not interested in braving the cold. Eric went out with Peanut while the little one was napping since his agency closed early, though. :) Hope you get your day tomorrow!

Beautiful pictures. I was a lame mom and didn't take any pictures. I figured they haven't changed that much since the pictures I took last year during our ONE snow.

I just wanted to give you a shout out for going on to do your nursery duty even though it was snowy and it would have been more fun to stay home;) You now have a special place in my heart and if you went to my church, you would be one of my peeps.

Also, the kleenex box thing, very creative. Many years ago, when I lived in the north, I used to use a cassette tape to scrape the snow...yes, I used to own cassette tapes.
